The Prescott Diversity Committee held their annual walk for Breast Cancer Awareness Month at 1 p.m. on Oct. 22. The walk started outside the Student Union and continued along the outer edge of campus towards the Interfaith Chapel. Nancy Lawrence led the charge as around 25 people joined in this year's walk.
Every year, the Society of Women Engineers holds a national conference to promote community outreach, encourage professional development, and support social networking between collegiate and professional members. This year, the conference was held in Long Beach, California and was attended by many university chapters and new graduates as well as professionals.
On Saturday, Oct., 17, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University opened its doors to prospective high school students who were seriously considering attending, had no problem affording the airfare, and were lucky enough to find a vacant hotel in Prescott. It was a chance for interested students to catch a glimpse of life at ERAU.
The ERAU Speaker Series incorporated a Creative Writing Symposium to identify and celebrate the literary talent on campus. Held on Oct. 8, the program attracted participants including faculty members, staff, and students from diverse majors. The Creative Writing Symposium is an offshoot of the Creative Arts Night that used to be held at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
