Welcome From SGA
Issue date: 8/21/08 Section: Welcome to ERAU
Welcome to Embry-Riddle! I am Anna Valsing your Student Government Association, SGA, President. I am from Jackson Hole, Wyoming and am a senior majoring in Aeronautical Science with a minor in Applied Meteorology. I am a member and previous treasurer for the Women in Aviation club, a member of the Flight Line Air Science Advisory Board, play intramural soccer, and have been an active member of the Student Government Association for two years. In my free time I love hiking, biking, skiing, climbing, photography, cooking, traveling, and reading.
I have found Embry-Riddle to be a wonderful place to go to college. With a wide variety of activities and events available on campus and in the surrounding areas you will find an exciting and energetic college environment. Take the first few weeks of school to find clubs you are interested in, go to on campus events, meet new friends, and get out and about Prescott. The more active and involved you are on campus, the more successful you will be during your years at Embry-Riddle. Take the time to start your classes off on the right foot... talk to your teachers, stay organized, and turn in your assignments. Always remember that there are many people you can go to on campus for advice. Visit the financial aid office, cashiers office, bookstore, library, student union, housing office, and student government association to get help with any issues that may arise. Make sure to keep in contact with friends and family from home... they will provide invaluable support to you as you transition to the college lifestyle.
The Student Government Association, SGA, is here to be of assistance to you. Stop by our office in the lower hangar for a multitude of services including candy and drinks, safe ride card sign up, free legal services, club funding, and the latest update on campus activities. All SGA representatives are friendly and eager to meet new people. Take the time to stop by the office to introduce yourself and get to know the students who are here to represent you. We look forward to working with you over the upcoming school year to make your first year at Embry-Riddle exciting and rewarding!
Sincerely,
Anna Valsing
