The Lower Hanger at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's student union housed a unique event on Apr. 9. For the first time at the Prescott campus, ERAU witnessed an all-Greek Community Banquet.
Hosted by the Greek Council-a joint group consisting of members of the Pan-Hellenic Council and Inter-Fraternity Council-with Brian Hubbard as Master of Ceremonies, the banquet was the capstone of an active spring semester for the Greek Community.
The Greek Banquet concluded the first Greek Week since 2004, which featured a range of events that support inter-fraternity and inter-sorority cooperation while allowing for friendly competition.
The banquet effectively closed out the year; its keynote was an awards presentation open to all fraternities and sororities.
Awards were given to new initiates of the Order of Omega, the national Greek honors fraternity. Following that, the floor was opened to each fraternity or sorority to give awards to their own members or members of other organizations. Awards ranged from the poignant "Sister of Minerva" award, given by Sigma Alpha Epsilon, to the comical "That Guy" award, given by Theta Xi.
Chartwells Educational Dining Service catered the event, providing lasagna, salad, and apple pie.
